I took my first sewing class in 6th grade as an elective and fell in love! I continued taking sewing classes throughout middle school and got my first sewing machine for my 13th birthday. In high school, I contributed dozens of costumes to the drama department and made my own dresses for dances and special occasions. As an adult, I've made everything from curtains to Halloween costumes. I know my way around a pattern, how to choose fabrics, the best kind of thread to use, and hundreds of little tips and tricks to make a picture perfect project without pulling your hair out!
Join one of my classes and I'll show you how to sew just about anything! I always discount the first class 50% off class fees for first time students so why not give it a shot! Don't have a sewing machine? Contact me and I'll see if I can hook you up with a loaner.
CLASSES
GENERAL INFO:
- All students must bring their own sewing machine, needles and bobbins to each class.
- See individual classes for information on materials.
- There must be at least 3 registered students for any class to take place and a maximum of 6 students will be accepted into any sewing class.
- All fees are due at least 24 hours prior to the class. Payments received less than 24 hours prior to class will be subject to a $5 late registration fee.
- A punch card good for 5 classes may be purchased for $70 (20% discount off per class fee - does not include material fees.
- First time students get 50% off class fees for their first class!
ONE-YARD WONDERS! - $18 class fee/$10 material fee - Offered every other week
Based on the book by the same name, in this class we will finish one simple, fun and practical project each week. Pre-cut fabric, notions and thread provided. First to register picks fabric first. (Beginning to intermediate levels)
COME AS YOU ARE! - $18 class fee - Offered weekly
In this class, students bring their own project at any stage to receive guidance towards completing it in a fun environment. Students are responsible for bring all materials and tools. This class is a great way to get help completing a project from another class! (All levels)
WARDROBE MAKEOVER! - $18 class fee - Offered every other week
Do you have something in your closet you don’t wear anymore, but can’t bring yourself to get rid of it? Bring it to this class and I’ll help you repurpose it! Make an old sweater into a hat, last year’s holiday dress into a dressy top and matching purse or your favorite old T-shirt into a pillow! Your bring the old clothes and I’ll help you make something completely new out of it that you can use or give as a gift! (All levels)
SEWING BASICS - $55 class fee/$12 material fee - 4 week session
From threading machine to finished project, students will learn all of the basics of sewing and walk away from class with a finished project. Covers basic stitches, fabric 101, all about notions and how to use a pattern. Each session will feature a different project. Pattern, fabric and thread provided. (Beginning level)
